About Jason A. Bleecher, Photographer
About Jason
Jason Andrew Bleecher developed a remarkable interest in art, literature, music, media and specifically photography at a very early age. Upon graduating from High School he immediately enrolled as a motion picture production student at Wright State University. After two years of foundational studies consisting of criticism, writing and photography classes Jason was invited to continue the program into his Junior and Senior years. The staggering cost of film production; however, prevented him from pursuing a conclusion to this course of study. Once settled back in his hometown of Lancaster, Jason found work as a camera salesperson at Cutler Camera and, after only a year, was promoted to manager of the Cutler Camera at the Deptford Mall in New Jersey, a position he held for a year before moving to Washington, DC to become an outside sales representative for Berry and Homer, the nation’s oldest photography processing lab and large format graphic supplier. In 2003 Jason returned to Lancaster to finish his bachelor’s degree at Millersville University, this time in Philosophy. While attending these last two years at college Jason worked part-time at Coe Camera Shop. Upon completion of this degree in 2007, Jason incorporated Jason A. Bleecher, LLC and began working as a freelance photographer.
Early in his photography career, Jason learned the most advanced and high-quality techniques while working for Lancaster’s best respected photographers including Brian Donnelly, Nick Gould, Fine Line Photography, and John W. Samson. In November of 2010, eager for experience, Jason left for Miami to pursue a longtime curiosity and set sail aboard the Norwegian Dawn as a cruise ship photographer. The experience was of great value and once he returned from his six month contract with Norwegian Jason stepped right back into his freelance career and now shoots for clients in Philadelphia and Atlantic City as well as his hometown of Lancaster.
